I got the VII in both ide and scsi. I don't know if the hdd jumper cabling comes with other Dataports. It is optional use on the VII,as far as I can tell.

They sure do have a lot of options. I stopped at the V series. No panel lights for the jumper settings. I do like the two LEDs..one for power and one for activity...since most case/mobo combos only have one HDD LED.

Is it w98 that can't see drives larger than 8.4 g as one volume?

Win 98 sees greater than 8.4 gig and so does the later release of Win95 (OSR2). The 16 gig and change reported is just a difference in the way a gig is defined...market types like..guess which one.
