George, I have cable modem access through MediaOne, and in the seven months I've used it, I've had three outages, ranging in length from two hours to one day. Despite this, there is no way in the world that I would ever go back to a dial up phone-line connection to the internet. Everyone who sees how fast web surfing is on my computer has gotten MediaOne installed soon thereafter. When surfing at 5:30 am, the page loads are either instantaneous, or nearly so. When surfing during heavy traffic times on the web, the system slows, as one would expect. But since the overall effect is to save that which is the most precious commodity that any of us has -- time -- it's very clear to me that broadband is the only way to go. ATHM will go to 28000, like ahhaha said. MGG
