I've heard it said, I'm not sure how accurately, that Jesus would have grown up in an area passed by trading caravans bound for and coming from numerous destinations. Ideas would naturally be discussed, and he could have heard a great deal about foreign philosophies from second-hand sources. He could also, of course, have signed on with a caravan. The only thing certain is that we will never know.

I know that amazon.com is very popular because maybe we are hearing about it all the time. But I recommend barnesandnoble.com They have far more books and they cannot be beat for the used and out-of-print books available. I have gotten one book already, out-of-print, that couldn't be found anywhere else. I noticed recently the link to barnes and noble has been added to the SI home page.
