MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 9, 1999--Informix(R) Corporation, (NASDAQ:IFMX) the technology
leader in enterprise database-powered solutions, today announced a strategic licensing agreement with Art Technology Group (ATG),
developer of the Dynamo(R) Relationship Commerce(tm) product suite for online E-Commerce and personalization applications. The
agreement will allow Informix to license ATG's technology to help businesses attract, engage and retain their customers while doing
business over the Web.
"To be successful on the Web, businesses need to do more than just manage large transaction volumes. A company needs to be
able to attract and retain customers through dynamic merchandising enabled by sophisticated analysis of buying patterns," said Wes
Raffel, vice president of i.Informix, the company's division to support E-Commerce and Web business environments. "Informix is
working aggressively to meet customers' increasingly sophisticated requirements for these sell-side E-Commerce environments."

Informix and ATG's Award Winning Technology

Under the terms of the agreement, Informix will license, integrate, and extend ATG's Dynamo technologies with Informix's database
Web engine, Web technology and consulting services to deliver a comprehensive value-priced enterprise E-Commerce solution.
Included in the integration will be ATG's Dynamo Application Server an award winning 100% Java-based application platform for
quickly developing, deploying, and running personalized E-Commerce applications.
In addition to Dynamo Application Server, Informix will incorporate ATG's functionality for personalization designed to track user
behavior for customizing and targeting individual preferences. A final important feature to be included will be ATG's online store
catalog, storefront, site design, and shopping-cart build and management capabilities for commerce site developers.
Informix's complete E-Commerce solution is scheduled for availability to customers in Q299.
