David,
Hi!!!

Thanks for the info....I just got in from school...first afternoon at home since early November...coaching is over and I feel like a new man catching up on doing some of the things I want to do...

I haven't had time to see this ad or think of what this means...I have my opinions and I base them on trust...

Michael has told us many times that he will do what is best for the shareholder...
He has not said he "won't" enter the market...he has said he will do what is best for DELL....and at the last earnings report he mentioned or Tom did that DELL may seek out this lower cost PC....now that the component costs are down lower and lower it may be profitable to enter...
I'd like to also add that there is only sooooo much DELL can do at once...if you read his speech on "MANAGING HYPER GROWTH" you'd know why he doesn't jump at the first opportunity for share in this area or that...growing toooo fast is a concern....
My own idea is that if DELL could sell this lower cost PC exclusively over the WWW.DELL.COM site that would enhance the internet name of DELL through the word of mouth....and, it would be a way for DELL to "advertise" that you get a better product cheaper by being the true "BE DIRECT CUSTOMER"...Just an idea I have...of course my marketing experience lies with selling raffle tickets... :o)

Best, kemble
