SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 1999--

Top PC Manufacturer Provides Documentation, Tools to Worldwide Developer Base Through Leading Internet Retailer of Technical Resources

ComputerLiteracy.com (Nasdaq:CMPL) today announced that Compaq Computer Corporation (NYS:CPQ) has selected ComputerLiteracy.com to provide an online bookstore serving Compaq's Fortran developer community. ComputerLiteracy.com, the leading Internet retailer of books, documentation and training materials for technology professionals, has created an online bookstore accessible from Compaq's Digital Fortran Developer Web site, which provides developers a quick and easy way to access and purchase books, documentation and developer tools at a discounted rate.

Compaq is one of many companies, including Microsoft, Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard Company, who recently have tapped ComputerLiteracy.com to deliver custom online stores via ComputerLiteracy.com's innovative bookstore programs.

The co-branded online bookstore can be accessed through compaq.com and serves a community of tens of thousands of Fortran developers worldwide. Fortran is an international programming language used widely in the auto and aerospace industries, energy and utilities organizations, research institutions, government organizations and scientific communities. The new online bookstore provides special recommended resources such as the Digital Visual Fortran Programmer's Guide and gives developers full access to ComputerLiteracy.com's books, documentation and training materials covering more than 800 technical subject categories. In addition, the site offers sophisticated search tools, reviews and advanced editorial services to assist Fortran developers in locating the right resources to solve their technical issues.

"Compaq's Digital Visual Fortran is really the 'gold standard' for developers worldwide," said Jesse Lipcon, Vice president of Compaq's High Performance Server Division. "ComputerLiteracy.com's online bookstore advances this leadership position. We can now offer developers quick and easy access to the books and information they need."

El,
I need some mileage. I jumped too quick on that one. It might become a tax sale at the end of the year if it doesn't move. Of course, that assumes I have some profits from other investments.<g>
