Would MDIN send the first 2 holes out to be assayed when they
were finished drilling? This would mean the company has the
results of the first or second hole and are awaiting the
results of the third before they are released.

ROASTING AND GOLD RECOVERY

Flotation concentrates are thickened, then washed on a 30m2 ceramic disc filter to remove chlorides. Two-stage roasting is used to oxidise pyrite. Arsenic is also removed. Roasting is exothermic and self-sustaining, heat from the reaction being sufficient to maintain the required operating temperatures: 580°C in the first stage, and 650°C in the second.

Calcine from the Dorr-Oliver fluidised-bed roasters is cooled, then treated with lime and cyanide solution, with gold recovery on to activated carbon in a series of seven adsorption tanks. Loaded carbon is stripped in a desorption circuit, gold being recovered by electrowinning on to steel wool, calcining to oxidise the steel and subsequent smelting to produce doré bars.
