The stocks's in play. VLSI is dead meat as an independent company. the question now is who and what price. we're in the 2nd or 3rd inning. larry

I just saw Joe Kernen on CNBC about 11:10 A.M talking about VLSI/Philips. He mentioned that lowering the threshold to 10 % should make it harder for Philips to acquire VLSI. He also mentioned that VLSI is trading higher than the ask of $ 17. I agree with him.
I think a counter bid is coming soon! With all this the stock should head into the 20s by April 1. What happens if Philips pulls their bid back on 4-1-99 - that is hard to say without a counter offer in the offing! With a counter offer we should be fine. Without it, we may languish.
