Hi Frank-- yes, you know how I believe Ashton has worked to downplay this thing in order to drive other players out (for ex., PMI now defunct). My earlier comment, though, was in reference to the revealed potential for 'horizontal' deposits-- something until now more or less ignored by most pundits:Initial drilling of the new discoveries has intersected variable thicknesses of kimberlite in pipe-like and bed-like formations. This is highly significant in terms of deposit depth, extent/size, open-pittable mining, etc. New thinking involved, but that's good! This theory of diamond deposition in AB has been discussed in the industry, publicly, by very few. Only one other company in the play, that I'm aware of. Ashton's letting this developing deposition model come to light a lil. ------------ We are at 31 kims now for ACA. The near surface depositis will be the valuable ones and the ones pursued. So in terms of potential, we can look to those. In ACA's Fe.10/99 NR Ashton claimed, "Dependent on progress, as many as 25 targets will be tested during the winter program in search of new kimberlites in addition to the 26 discovered to date. " - They have been busy. Rumours as to very busy. -- They're two thirds done their program; I wonder how many anomalies they've thus far drilled, vs. what they've reported. I wonder how many more kims or "bed-like" deposits we'll hear of! I am optimistic... Ashton seems to release news as they see fit-- hope they keep the flow going as they are bound by the exchanges. Anyway, this play is still in its beginnings. Obviously, small morsels are coming to surface as we progress through the exploration cycles! Regards, -j :> Ashton Canada website: ashton.ca
