SEVL - Waterhouse let me short 1K right after the open - when I tried to short another 1k - they let it hang on pending for 10 minutes. After speaking to a broker he informed me they had no more shares to short however had I placed an order for the 2k when they did have shares they would have been 'reserved' for me - in other words even if I didn't want to do the 2k @ 7 I could have just placed the 2nd lot at 8 or 9 and adjusted the price later. Good to know. I started small to have the leverage to average up if necessary. Next time I'll place the orders right away with the price spread out.
