[OT: diversification]

Diversification is my ticket to restful sleep, based on my belief that I often make good picks, but also make errors. To capitalize while minimizing risk, I make many bets. My portfolio should outperform, but miscues and isolated blowups will not sink it. I am impressed by your confidence in your 'best idea'; if warranted, your stockpicking ability is exceptional.

Avoiding gains only one option. At a high enough price, selling and paying the full tax is preferable to holding. That should be easy to determine given your skills.

I appreciate your candor and politeness, but I am mystified that you criticize my person. I happen to have personal and professional experience -- but that neither bolsters nor detracts from my thesis: fear of capital gains tax is no reason blindly to hold a stock.
