I did another quick this noon at Fremont. The download rate rampped up to 60Kbytes/second(i.e., 0.5Mbps). A bit slower than yesterday. The best speed I got yesterday is 190Kbytes/second(i.e., 1.5Mbps). So it's a variable. This morning I saw a brief slow down, then it improves to normal about 5 minutes later. I guess my neighbors were getting on line at the same time.

Anyway, I would say 95% of the time the speed varies from 0.5Mbps to 1.5Mbps. And most of the time it can keep the average 1 Mbps rate.
Not bad to me at all. My PC is not high end, just a regular Pentium of 233Hz with 32Meg RAM.

Aside from being able to flip web pages like flipping TV channels, the most attractive feature is their animated news and animated advertising. Now I am seeing the future.
