ASND buyout is all stock deal (excepting of course fractional shares) rate of .825 shares of LU for each share of Ascend. If you multiply the current price of LU by .825, the value of Ascend should be about 7 dollars higher than the current ASND price. As we move to the merger date, the spread will narrow. Assuming the merger is consummated and the price of LU doesn't tank before June and a shareholder is going to hold the stock, there is a benefit in buying ASND at this point rather than LU because ASND is discounted in relation to LU.
