I have a somewhat more positive view of the possibilities this company presents...especially at these levels. I work in the field, and have used OSI's NetExpert and TrafficMaster products. I've also had the fortune of utilizing their competitors products (HP OpenView, SunNet Manager, etc.) and I believe OSI has the superior product. The integration with Remedy's trouble-ticketing system is what I believe sets this apart from the others...for now, anyway. Of course, that isn't the only reason I see it as a superior product. As for negatives, database integration and maintenance is complex with this product. But hey, the move towards selling rule sets and other "patches" (or should I say enhancements) is smart IMO. Now, if only they can market this well.

I think the movement of products to overseas markets will also improve the bottom line. I'm looking for a bottom here. Once I find it, I believe I will be jumping in.

I understand your point about NE's changing and the requirement for a NMS to adjust to those changes, but in my experience, it's been the comparatively insignificant NE's that are changed/upgraded frequently. These devices are typically easy to manage. On the other hand, the core devices (5ESS switches, for example) tend to remain in place for quite a while after installation.

I'm not recommending OSII to my best friends, but I am watching OSII closely.
