I see on the Yahoo thread, and some on this one, that Qwest may be interested in acquiring E spire for some local access. I wonder, if this comes to be, what impact that would have on Qwest stock price. Often when companies are acquired, it drives down the price of the acquirer. On the other hand, it would give Qwest good access to medium and small markets.

I wish they would buy Metromedia fiber for access into the large markets, but since I own a little of that I'm biased. But they will have to address how to get access into the large markets at some point.
