excerpt from the street.com: "The bears have taken it over."

"For example, Jeff calls me after the Micron (MU:NYSE) meeting. The stock is up a buck and a half when he calls. "How is the stock?" he asks? Gee, I say, "acting great and they keep taking it."
Wow, he says, "pricing's not so hot -- I wouldn't chase it." Next thing you know, an hour later, the stock is down a point. The bears have taken it over."

ps. I'm not quite back, but I'm considering it

Some of us never left! It was MU that pretended to be a bull for a couple of hours (as we expected it would do at some point), courtesy of ol' Deniles, per Fleck:

"Some of the more brain-dead tech stocks went wild. My favorite moronic analyst Dan Niles came out and touted Micron, using some old data, and had the stock up $7."

Anybody have more detail on this? I checked all the usual sources and couldn't come up with anything.

Looking at today's graph, especially the last ten minutes, I'd say there are more than the four of us keeping our hands on our wallets. :-)

Let's see how long 55 can hold out tomorrow. I will be watching closely at 10:00 and 10:30, of course, and 1:30 is becoming as popular as 3:00 as the start time for violent movements.

Greenspan speaks tomorrow somewhere too -- that might keep a lid on things for a while, but my bet is that any reaction after his speech will be down rather than up. Just a W.A.G.!

By the way: Samsung is Happy as a Calm. They have had a week of yields around 95% at probe on the .22um, 64 Meg. Micron is about 30 percentage points behind that -- on their BETTER lots. Do the math 30% more die out for the same amount of processing -- WOW. Did I hear a cash register going off in Austin?

Larry,

Would you consider this a head & shoulders?

How many bears does it take to make a "bottom" ???

Larry,

How many "newbies" showing up for the first time during a breathtaking swoon simply to criticize the happy dancing bears does it take to conclude that diehard dippies are starting to sweat bullets? "Four", I think! :-)
