Even if we don't consider the sales of the Pentium III, one just asks the question: If Intel cuts prices on the cheap CPU to levels comparable to that of AMD, what would a buyer select (corporate or consumer)? Easy question in my opinion. With all that marketing and track record it is obviously Intel.
It may not be fair but that it reality!!!

If INTC is saying that PIII is stronger than expected, it must be taking market share from AMD

More likely, AMD is losing sales at THE LOW END to the newly priced Celeron segment - which is exactly what Intel said they going to do when they cut Celeron pricing last month.

Strong PIII sales keep margins where Intel forecast they would be.
