Wally, AMD already prewarned on this a couple of weeks ago. The market is aware of their shortcomings and I doubt it will be a big deal for the other techies. Jeff

I agree.

AMD would spend a fortune to buy away some key Yield engineers from Intel.... If they could I suppose, but I think it goes deeper. Intel pays them well (the employee option package at Intel is very impressive) plus its internal procedures are second to none... VERY tough for a company losing money to duplicate the pay package and costly procedures of Intel.

Some alliances to watch are IBM/Dell, HP/CharterSemi/Moto, etc. I don't think the big co's like a virtual monopoly and will take measures to protect against it.
