Yousef - Re: "AMD got a boost about two weeks ago after a report from PC Data Inc. said AMD held 44 percent of the retail desktop PC processor market in January. "

Well, let's do some MATH !

AMD will ship 5 million Kdogs (TOPS) this quarter, down from 5.5 million Kdogs last quarter.

That is a 10 per cent drop = (5.5-5)/5.

My guess is AMD's 44 per cent retail market share number will drop to below 40% within a month or two - if it hasn't already happened.

By the way - will INTEL sell 500,000 MORE Celerons/Pentium II/IIIs to help the poor OEMs make up the AMD SHORTFALL ?

That could be DOUBLY GOOD NEWS for Intel !
