I bought at 111 at end of January for long term. Assumed short term action was over for the time being. Have now almost doubled my money(Taking account of £/$ currency movements. There may well be a correction but I am holding on for 3-5 years at least.

Thanks Eric for the info. I forgot about the 5 % issue. I don't see any justification for such intervention into CMGI. They aren't much different from a public holding company. Part of point of mutual fund regs is to protect investors from a fund being overconcentrated with a small selection of companies. But I'm not aware of any regs that are intended to prevent a venture capital company from; 1) being public; 2) selecting the investment it chooses on behalf of its investors. The existence of a company like CMGI makes venture-type activity more accessible to the average person and should therefore be encouraged. Can anybody enlighten us on securities law on this?

But recc's turn into downgrades at most investment houses after 100% appreciation in the course of less than a month. (assuming they are logical) Of course - some houses issue buy rec's just before they want to dump their stock...At a certain price - no matter how good a company is - or how promising it's future - the stock price becomes overvalued. In this case - this one is waaay overvalued...
Promising over the LT yes - positive over the ST no.
If lucky - you might get one more good day of gains out of this thing - if for no other reason than short covering..but that's about it for the ST. The "blowoff" (almost always a sign of a top & where the suckers get in) was today..
