i agree it's a bad rumor. first, there are other similar companies-- sfe comes to mind-- but they're not mutual funds. second, as near as i can tell, the story in bloomberg is one or two sentences. and third, it's so vague it's true-- of course cmgi could face regulation as a mutual fund, as could other similar ventures. there seems to be no reason offered in the article as to why cmgi should be a mutual fund except its success-- but i'm not aware that success is a criterion for making a company into a mutual fund. if cmgi were unsuccessful would that prevent it from being a mutual fund? and do failing mutual funds lose their mutual fund status? maybe i'm all wet on this. also, there should be a quote from a regulator or a press release. all of which suggest, as you pointed out, that it's something put out to dampen the price. imho

ps my wife wants me to put my money into a real estate thingy she's looking at, so there goes my idea, but thatnks to all who advised me and i've saved all your posts. you were all correct, but i'm married to her....

I am a long term (3-5 yrs) investor in CMGI. Sure, we will have our ups and downs, and every time it drops I will plow more $ into this stock. The dips should be viewed as great buying opportunities, and for all who buy and hold on during these times, you will be generously rewarded. I am looking forward to a prosperous future with all CMGI investors. My best to all. Joe
