High speed access via T, and three-way wireless pact, AOL/T/TALK

Just found a great little article on pg. 64 of April 1999 Wired Magazine entitled "Why AOL Always Wins". Last paragraph:

Despite AT&T's attempt to lock up the cable Internet Market by scarfing up TCI (and by extension ISP @Home), don't expect Steve Case to be left holding the bouquet. Given AOL's Joe Six-Pack customer base, the company should move into the cable market soon. Once it does, look out: No one is better at pushing its product into living rooms. And when push comes to shove, America wants its AOL.

Robert...Cable has "got" to be right around the corner...I am confident that this time that has lapsed without an announcement being made over the last couple months has been because AOL is hammering some complex deal(s) out...They are taking a fair amount of time because of the complexity of the issues and want to be sure they are not locked into "corners", so to speak, and at the same time getting the cable exposure they want...

I wouldn't be surprised to see this deal coming soon now...I'm still thinking this week..We'll see.

Regards, George

Look Robert. Steve Case is no dummy. Why would he want to hook up with i.e. Time Warner, etc. when the FCC hasn't as yet made a decision as to whether or not to allow companies such as AOL, MCI, etc. to be able to buy usage on their cable wires. Personally I believe they will be allowed to. That would be better for the consumer, and yes, for AOL. Think of the money they would save. There is a lot of lobbying going on right now. If the FCC says the cable companies such as the AT&T/TCI merger, Time Warner, etc. have to open up their lines, watch AOL move overnight.

Good Luck.
