Mike, check out the last sentence of this news item. TI's delay may, in time, hurt them too (in the xDSL arena).

Broadcom, a leading broadband-communication chipmaker, will supply Northern Telecom (NYSE:NT - news) with a high-speed communications technology. Also, Broadcom said its high-speed technology will be incorporated into Nortel's VDSL broadband network, a product that allows for rapid
transmission of voice, data and video over the telephone lines. 'They got one of the biggies, one of the big telecom-equipment suppliers that has jumped in and is supporting this technology, said Gregory Sheppard, an analyst at Dataquest, a unit of the Gartner Group. 'Broadcom has a reputation for getting in early with a technology and becoming the dominant supplier.'

Yeah, I heard on CNBC about TIs tremendous growth in DSPS going forward.

It made me want to scream about the cost/Mip and cost/watt relationship of the competition. C6 is powerful but about 2 years too expensive for the equipment suppliers ( other than CSCO).

You all have fun chasing the ADSL equipment supplier. I know I'll chat with you on THAT thread, wherever else it may be.
