Copper Mountain Announces Exclusive Contract Manufacturing Partnership With Flextronics International Volume Production of Copper Mountain's DSL Networking Solutions to Meet Increased Demand From Growing Customer Base and Aggressive CLEC Deployment PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 1999-- Copper Mountain Networks, Inc., which develops and markets DSL networking solutions, announced today that Flextronics International Ltd. (Nasdaq:FLEX - news), a global full-service provider of innovative design, engineering and manufacturing solutions, has become Copper Mountain's sole source of contract manufacturing. Copper Mountain will initially outsource the volume production of its CopperRocket(TM) 201 customer premise equipment (CPE) and its CopperEdge(TM) 200 access concentrator to Flextronics. While Copper Mountain intends to keep production of new products in-house, Flextronics will manufacture the company's mature product lines requiring volume production. Copper Mountain also plans to use the Product Introduction Center that Flextronics is opening near Copper Mountain's San Diego office. Flextronics will maintain relationships Copper Mountain has developed with San Diego distributors and will continue to purchase parts from Copper Mountain's preferred partners.
