Did UPCOY just go public? Their chart looks like it. Are you in it. Large float. What's up with them?

Yes, UPCOY did just go public about one month ago. In fact, analysts from the underwriting firms that brought UPCOY public, Goldman and Witter, should be coming out with their ratings of UPCOY (they are restricted to be mum about companies that they bring forth for one month after IPO) any day now.

I am in it. I allocated 25% of my portfolio each to UPCOY and ATHM. Had to sell off my some of my beloved MSFT for UPCOY. But I feel that the exponential growth prospects are more likely with the smaller UPCOY rather than with MSFT. I have the ATHM service and treasure it. So, I have decided to buy what I use and love, and that is broadband.

Their float worldwide is pretty large, I agree, but the # allocated to the US market is small.

UPCOY looks like a smaller scale T and ATHM all rolled into one stock. They own the Chello service and also the revenues from IP telephony, something that ATHM does not enjoy. UIHIA has a controlling stake in UPCOY, but I would imagine that if ATHM, AOL, or RR come a knockin UIHIA would be willing to listen to offers. So, IMHO UPCOY is a also buyout play in that respect. In a way I find UPCOY more attractive than ATHM since in +Europe there are still per minute usage fees on phone lines for internet access. Cable net access would allow the population there to have unlimited access to the net, which is when I belive US net usage took off, and much faster and always on features to boot. These are the same features that lured me into the ATHM service. I guess am betting that I am the "Average Joe" so to speak.

I hate to push a stock but I figured I would bring it up since UPCOY is somewhat a similar play to ATHM and broadband. Its at least worth a look. Tell me what you think about UPCOY (+/-) if you have a minute or so. I am always looking for critical thinking from others to bulletproof my portfolio. Take care. -Adam
