Notice the amount of shares the insiders started selling after the upgrade announcements; notice what AA did to the dividend before the insiders started dumping; notice how many positive PRs were put out; And this is all legal of course...

More glue anyone?

I am usually a lurker on this very good thread here, just thought I might contribute this piece.

Death Sphincter,

I see you're going to kill this bull with body odors.
I agree there's some disagreement between NASDAQ and NYSE charts and counts.
The bearish count on the Naz (ABC correction to the 2/1 - 2/18 down move) could be negated by price action - low 2420s should end the C, is 2450 enough to void that count?

I fail to see a bearish count on the SPX.

Try #1'- 11/27 top ended 1, 1/8 ended 3 and 2/1 ended 5 ?
Then the corrective ABC ended on 3/3 and a new impulse started.

Try #2 - 11/27 ended 1 , 1/8 ended 3, 2/10 started a diagonal 5?
Then 2/12 ended 1 of 5, 2/18 ended 2 of 5, 2/24 ended 3 of 5, 3/3 ended 4 of 5, and a marginal new high today or tomorrow (today will make 4 of 5 of 5) is all she wrote.
But on 3/3 the SPX went lower then 2/18.

In fact, the only difference I see on the SPX between 4-6/98 and 1-3/99 is that in 98 it was a slightly decending bullish flag or wedge, and now it is slightly rising.

Looking at the Russell 2000 from the 4/98 peak the wave count is painfully clear - A clear cut 5er from 4/21 top to 6/15 is 1, then correction to 7/16 while the big caps went to new highs, then a VERY clear 5er to 10/8 being the 3, and now we're in C of 4 that should not pass 430. The next down move (5) should take us at least to the October lows.
Taking a closer look makes me think that the Russell is just endind 2 of 5, after 1/20 top C of 4, and should turn down soon to break the H&S neckline at 391.

Now the NASDAQ peaking on 2/1 could be just like the Russell peaking on 4/21/98, and while the Dow is leading the SPX to new highs, the Naz could only correct sideways, and wait for the next down draft to lead the market lower.

The Naz and NDX have approached an area of resistance (NDX 2037-2065, Composite 2405-2450). A sharp turn could spell trouble.

Odious one,

trin5 going below 4 right out of the gate can be viewed as a signal of a super strong up move ahead, as seen back in jan. & feb. 98. And at the top in july, trin5 never gave a 6+ sell signal. i've learned a secret about t5... play the divergences between it and price. works better.

Stix issued a big-time buy signal by coming out of oversold territory (below 45) and getting through 48.

Bull-ieve!!!
