Softbank's best investment is Yahoo. In fact Softbank is partner with Yahoo in several of the localized international Yahoo editions. Since Softbank owns about a third of Yahoo, and half of the international versions, Softbank is the defacto majority owner of Yahoo globally. In another sense, Softbank is a CMGI-type investment trust with other Web investments like E*Trade Japan. I believe that Softbank will ultimately be the largest Web investor in Japanese content. They also have other interests, notably the COMDEX trade shows. I think the best way to play all this is to buy Yahoo, or Yahoo Japan.
