I think it's just more economist's babble. Economists are not philosophers, lawmakers, or technicians, but you can tell that they have mistaken themselves for such. I guess this is what Dan Quail meant by the C students ending up running everything.

The *last* thing I want is some dweeb of an economist telling me how things should be valued, regulated, or run. These people can't even predict the GNP or CPI, measures they properly might be expected to be able to anticipate. Let alone philosophical questions of value, I say, until ones own house is in order.

Not that all economists agree with these types from Chicago and the tame Cato PR school.
