DELL gets ready to sell some SERIOUS machines ...

Dell Bent on Protecting Coveted Turf

LA Times

latimes.com

Q: Where is [alternative operating system] Linux going?

A: I've been surprised. We had a commercial customer order 250 machines with Linux on them to run a retail network of stores. There is growing demand there. We're going to start selling Linux to single-party users very soon.

Q: It's going to be on the menu?
A: Yes. You'll go to dell.com, pull down "operating system," and click "Linux."

My visit to Burkesville was very short. The whole town screams for redevelopment. LT has put his house up for sale to buy more Dell puts.
One bear on the street corner had a violin with a monkey holding a cup. I gave him 50 cents to stop playing.
Another bear was peeing on an anthill in the alley.
Three bears were using an old Underwood portable to compose a letter to Janet Reno asking her to re-implement the lawsuit against Intc and to include Amat since they just went short on both those stocks.
I gave them 5 bucks for the typewriter and they ran off to the brokers to buy more puts.
When I got back to the car someone had stolen the gold emblem
off my hood so I left before they syphoned off the gas and jacked it up for the tires.
