As most already know the following was recently (Feb 22) announced by Trident, Neomagic's main competitor.

******************************
Trident Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRID - news) today enabled the sub-$1,000 notebook market
with the world's first 3D graphics chip integrating core logic designed for AMD's Socket 7 and Super7 platform.
******************************

It is interesting that none of the new notebooks that were just announced by Compaq based on AMD's super 7 platform use the Trident card. The high end uses ATI, the low ends goes to Neomagic of course.
