I'll have to check with my supervisor but he was talking about 48-bit on OS/2 and 64-bit on NT but it could have to do with the programs as they've software nuts. I do know that the new AS/400E has 4 processors, 27 hard drives and a gaggle of other stuff. Perhaps it runs two processors in parallel when running 64 bit programs?

I'm just the guy that works on the lesser hardware stuff so forgive me if I'm wrong.
