NOVL...takeover rumours have been rampant for years. But Dr. Schmidt and Company have been adamant about going it alone as a company.

I figured Tim would have picked up on NOVL as one of his takeover plays but I see he is not watching or still fixated on PAIR.

Re: NOVL & HP - I really wonder if Scott McNealy (SUNW) would let this happen - I somehow see Schmidt (x-SUNW) re-aligning NOVL with SUNW at some point in time to REALLY take on MSFT on the desktop (JAVA with NOVL's directory services)- still makes NOVL a good investment/ potential buy-out candidate, though (I do not own any NOVL, sold a bunch at 14 ...)
