This is why I have been concerned about Precision Systems: there isn't enough activity. If not sacrificed at the alter of XRL or BriteLight, PSI should be able to make inroads into other significant markets like this one. However, it is very hard to "sell" PSI capability to investors and analysts because there isn't necessarily a "product" until a custom design has won a customer. This is undoubtedly what is happening with this customer (Affymetrix or ?). This would not be a new technology, but an application of PSI's precision machine design capability (which no one seems to understand). It would be a custom design, not an existing product.

Now, the questions are, is it more than just a prototype, how large is the market, are there any competitors against which PSI must prevail, and where else could this new "product" (or variants) be applied?

I don't think J*MAR marketing has a clue about what to do with PSI either, but I could be wrong. Their marketing communications strategy is certainly puzzling. They could be keeping quiet for a good reason, though it is hard to imagine what.
