If you look into the aforementioned companies I think you willl find that the opposite is true. Khazakstan allowed them to make investments into their infrastructure, and then renegged on their arrangements. Khazakstan is currently being pursued by these companies in the world courts to honor these arrangements, and to recoup the investments that they have put in. I hope this gives you a better understanding of where the market's perception of country risk is coming from. Vince
