Small bills please. Or you could just beat CYOE over the head with a stick, and we'll call it even. <g>

Some of you may have heard about the hostile tender offer being made by Philips to VLSI shareholders at 17. The price of the stock is and has been since the official start of the tender period (last Friday) consistently over 18, thus (apparently) frustrating Philips.

It has been reported messages.yahoo.com@m2.yahoo.com that Lehman Bros. (LEHM) is behind the buying. LEHM represents (as far as we know) neither VLSI nor Philips, giving support to the contention that there is yet another suitor in the wings.

Any thought on how one might go about narrowing the possible playing field? Any/all comments would be appreciated, as this is shaping up to be a very interesting situation.
