The bad news...
"would cut 300 jobs over the next two quarters, which will result in a charge against earnings"
"will ship no more than 5 million of the K6 microprocessors in this quarter"
"shot themselves in the foot"
"majority of the chips fabricated were 300 megahertz"
"analysts [had] estimated that the company might report losses of nine cents per share...losses this quarter will be more than that: "No question." "
"Nobody"s pounding the table about this stock," (except us here on SI)

The good news (?)...
"Those problems have now been straightened out"...uhh, right.
"K7 chip remains on schedule for release in June"...the cavalry to the rescue.
"to add more independent [non-AMD affiliated] directors to its board"...Boy, do we need this!

The only really good news ...
The bottom hasn't completely fallen out of this stock instantly.
