Interesting article that is still on the web. Notice the canadian companies involved and the high roller at that time. Oh to be a shorter then!

Given the nature of this particular strike I don't believe they had much choice but to drill it the way they did. That does not make your point about the extent, 40M any less valid, but the company was damned if they did and damned if they didn't. These results were very significant, albeit limited in extent, and they really needed early reporting.

This adds to the rest of the findings, but is still not sufficient to call a major strike. Its all very interesting, but still not what the majors are looking for.

As far as shorting the pre brex world......well you could have bought Microsoft in 84 too.
