SyCoNet.com Retail Division Achieves Significant Increase in Japanese Animated Video Sales At Megacon Expo

MANASSAS, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 9, 1999--SyCoNet.com, Inc., (OTC BB:SYCD), the leading U.S. distributor of Anime (Japanese animated) videos and DVDs, today announced that sales of its Anime videos at last weekend's Megacon '99 convention in Orlando, FL increased 100% from sales at the 1998 convention.

The Company's Alternative Video Warehouse retail division attended the conference, which attracted approximately 10,000 fans and professionals involved in the comic and illustration industries.

The Megacon convention has emerged as a diverse forum showcasing comics, illustration, gaming, multimedia, Anime, and science fiction/fantasy. Hundreds of the industry's top artists, publishers, and dealers were featured at the show where new products and the hottest collectibles were available.

''Based on the noticeable increase in the number of companies marketing Anime products at these expos, it is clear that Japanese animation is rapidly becoming the prevailing item at comic and illustration conventions across the country,'' stated Sy Picon, chief executive officer of SyCoNet.com.

''With the lowest Anime prices over the Internet and a rapidly growing product line which includes some of the greatest selling Anime videos of all time, we are beginning to reap the rewards of our distinct competitive advantage in the industry,'' Picon continued. ''By showcasing our products at conventions across the country, we continue to achieve stronger market presence and name recognition. This translates into greater sales at the shows and repeat business through our e-commerce website.''

The Company's retail division is showcasing SyCoNet.com's Anime videos and full product line at roughly 25 conventions nationwide this year. The division's website offers individuals the opportunity to purchase videos at the lowest prices on the Internet. The site is located at www.altvidwar.com.

SyCoNet.com, Inc., formerly SyCo Distribution, Inc., distributes Anime Japanese animated movies, live action cult films, multimedia games and software, DVDs, CDs, toys, apparel, and related merchandise to retail and consumer markets nationwide through two high-traffic websites, a catalog, and direct sales campaigns.
