I kinda halfway remembered it being even closer than a quarter inch. Living billiard table felt comes to mind. But memory fades, and I wanted to err on the side of caution.

I too am marveled by greens-keeping. I say we mount an investigation. We should make a movie. That's got to be one of the finest arts on the planet.

As a matter of fact, I was driving up the freeway one day, looking at a golf course, and thinking "Golf is possibly the one sport they have on no other planet."

You know, like a bat and a ball, and basketball, and hockey and even football are easy to figure. Like natural. But look at a golf course and see what they do on there.

I'm not sure what to do with this info though.

My dad was just telling me last Monday about the speech his commanding general gave to the Division as they prepared to invade Sicily. General Lucien Truscott, and I guess he gave a real stem-winder. Dad said it was like hearing Caesar speak to the troops before battle. Truly inspiring. He wishes he could find a copy of it somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if old Truscott didn't lift it straight out of Caesar, or maybe Shakespeare.
