Hi Ken,
We appear to be near the bottom of the bear market for oil prices. I stress "appear" as there are so many factors that go into the downward pressure on oil. I think the main reason this sector has gone through this turmoil was when OPEC increased production 10% in the face of the Asian contasian. Asia was the source of the increased demand for oil and OPEC made a huge mistake when they miscalculated the demand side of the equation.

Add to the mix technological advances in the exploration and production of oil and we have additional pressure on prices.

Here is a post I just wrote about the upcoming OPEC meeting on the SD thread:https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=8233459

For the record, in December I purchased Cooper Cameron (CAM), R+B Falcon (FLC), UTI and Weatherford (WFT). I purchased SFY recently. I intend to purchase APC in the future.
