Just to set the record straight publicly, I put a picture of a Los Angeles class sub on my profile last night. This morning when I woke up, there was a PM to me from a submariner asking, "What's the deal, dude?"

The deal is this: I like submarines. I always have, even when I was a little kid. I think subs are real, real nifty. My brother was a submariner on a couple of fast attack boats. I got a tour of his boat one time; one of the highlights of my life.

I think this country owes a debt to submariners that can never be fully repaid. I have the greatest respect and admiration for anybody that was on a submarine at any time, any place.

That's the deal.

(This does not mean that if you were or are a submariner that you can be a dillweed on SI, it just means that if I know you are a submariner, I won't hassle you. Submariners are top shelf dudes, IMHO.)

BAWK!
