Interesting and thorough treatment of an incredible man.
I found the book fascinating and compelling. I got it from my library for researching a paper, and I just couldn't put it down, until I had finished reading.

Now I have just had to get it for my library at home.

Hi Butch!

Check out The Legacy of Leonardo. Published by Skira, ISBN 88-8118-463-X. Just got my copies of the English edition the other day.

Hmm, when was it published - originally, that is?
Is that a bogus ISBN number? They're supposed to be ten (10) digits.

You may also wish to have a look at the catalogue of the recent show Leonardo. La donna con l'ermellino (Silvana Editore, actually Amilcare Pizzi). Not to mention the Bergognone exhibition catalogue from earlier in '98 (again Skira).

So, what was this show? Previous publications? New publications?

I don't understand exactly what this is:
Review of Richard V. Schofield, Janice Shell, Grazioso Sironi, Giovanni Antonio Amadeo, Documents / I documenti, Como, 1989, in Arte Lombarda, 94-95 (1990), 191.

Is this a review you did or somebody reviewing your publication? Whatever it is, it's old.

Here's another old one:
LEONARDO. Janice Shell. Scala Publications Ltd, London, 1992. Published in association with Reunion des musees nationaux, Paris. Distributed in the U.S.A. by Rizzoli International Publications, Inc., New York. Great Artists. 64 pp. with 48 ills. (46 col.). 24 x 18 cm. LC 93-121542 ISBN 1857590066 In English.
Worldwide Number: 092858

Here's an old one you edited:
"Patronage, Autobiography, and Iconography: the Facade of the Colleoni Chapel." In Giovanni Antonio Amadeo: Scultura e Architettura del suo tempo, edited by Janice Shell and Liana Castelfranchi, 157-73. Milan: Cisalpino, 1993.

And for some reason, you're not in the database of the Duke University Dictionary (bibliography) of Art Historians at:
lib.duke.edu

Can you point me to something recent that you've done? TIA.

I've often felt that reading is Ellen's most serious problem, the one that leads her to invest in scam stock after scam stock. I don't know that giving her references is going to do the job.
