Your favorable comments about LVCI no doubt relate to the fact that LVCI is buying VISX machines. Actually, I don't care to much about the hardware. I think the money is in surgery services, long-term.
I sold most of my favorite laser stock (Beam) at 35 before a split and bought some back at 18. Took a loss on the stock when I sold it at 6 but made all of the money back by buying LCAV and LVCI with the Beam proceeds. You can see why I like the laser center stocks.
As for Visx, just remember that someone is always ready to knock off the King of the Mountain if they can. Watch the patent fights and lawsuits to come. For VISX, it will be equal or better technology discounted (or dumped) on the market to shake their position that may loom as a problem, but I see that as well into the future. Enjoy the ride!
