Fred,

Merced was co-developed by Intel and HP. I don't know if either one of the companies owns a specific piece of it. Certainly neither one has stated anything of the sort through the standard investor channels.

The public sources I've looked at don't seem to indicate much (if any) HP involvement in McKinley, and I have presumed that it is mostly being done by Intel as an extension of the architecture they developed along with HP. May be wrong. HP is really terrible at providing any meaningful information to the public about what products they are really working on or what the implications are for the business. From an investor's point of view, that makes it a very hard company to understand or follow.
