It's my understanding that the G.lite initiative has greatly reduced the installation costs of DSL to the SOHO market. It eliminates the need for a service technician to make an on-site call (at the expense of a little performance). Theoretically, this should pave the way for mass deployment of ADSL. Interoperability standards have addressed the compatibility issues.
