Anthony, that kind of content is very similar to recent nonsense on the Internet about aspartame, which re-surfaces every few years. Probably the same groups of folks write it. They're looking for gullible, simple minds who will (literally) buy into their cause. What did you think?

Some of the nonsense I found on the link was actually interesting; a few of the people who wrote it might actually believe parts of it are factual. I won't bother going through it, but I am open to anyone's questions on particular items.

By the way, I have also been doing a little research on what's called "sustainable farming". For sources, I have been going to reputable ones such as that provided by major universities. What's most interesting is such research proves that the best farming methods aren't entirely organic, nor "non-organic" but a combination of advanced science and strategic ways of managing crops and soil, including the use of things like herbicides (for example, herbicides are often the best way to reduce soil loss). So what the organic farmers have been saying isn't really true.

I did notice there was conveniently a link on one of the pages of "where to buy organic"...it bothers me that these guys are pushing bad science to scare people so they will buy their products. I do buy organic sometimes but am re-thinking this.

Pushing mis-information is clearly the real danger.

Interesting comment from Tony Blair (UK PM) points out why we won't give in to "misinformational terrorism". I'm sure this feeling is stronger yet on the US side, and explains why the US is prepared to back up its position with whatever trade measures it needs to...via WTO or punitive import tariffs as it sees fit.

(quotes from the Prime Minister)
'There is no scientific evidence on which to ban GM foods and crops.

'If we were to ban products that our independent scientific advisors tell us are safe, we would send a negative message to the whole biotech industry in the UK - in healthcare as well as in food and agriculture - that its future will be governed not by evidence but by media scares.'

(my additional comment)
So, apparently the US and UK really DO see this crap coming out of Greenpeace et al. as terrorism, as I have been saying. And, the *last* thing the US will do is give into terrorism, in any form. As US citizens or Monsanto investors, we must not give into terrorism either, or we become part of the problem.
