So the bullish juices are flowing this morning, but our "flashbacks" from the past are giving us a lot of discomfort. If that wasn't enough, Goldman Sachs furnished the topping on the cake last week, when they resurrected their plans for an initial public offering of their own stock in the weeks ahead. This proved to be the announcement that topped off the bullish move in 1998, and they had to cancel their plans when the market plummeted in August of last year. My advice to them is to put this on the very fast track, or they might find themselves in the embarrassing position of having to pull the plug twice. If they wait too long, their management committee might be on the verge of becoming the "ultimate" contrary indicator.
