El: I was in the kitchen getting supper so didn't hear the introduction.

Interesting that ML did not feature the Intel story. Just a passing comment that market was hit with earnings fears that one or the other company was issuing warnings every day. It did feature EMC and RJR.

1999 is not the best year for international recovery, so far: but its coming and COMPAQ's "foreign" sales will be very big the second half and all of next year.

The UK Chancellor forecast 1 1/2% growth for UK this year, rising 1% to 3 1/2% in two years. So we are in our slowdown now but will start coming out of it in the second half. The rest of Europe should also see accelerating growth in the 2nd half. Asia is doing a lot better than a year ago, but still not as good as it could. I know all this is long-terminism but this international work being done by COMPAQ will pay off big in 6-18 months.
