Tech - the Democrats hate MSFT

If that is the case, go Republicans!!!
Personally, i think there may be many Democrats who support MSFT as well. Chances are that more Republican are favorable to Microsoft. Microsoft is spending money on both parties in lobbying. Smart move since the idea is get support where you can get it.
That motion to cut the DOJ's spending received opposition from about an equal number of Dem. and Rep.

I don't think it's such a partisan affair as you suggest. Remember, it was GOP politicians who pressured the FTC and eventually the DOJ to file this suit:

One of the most vocal critics of Microsoft is the Republican chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the very conservative Orrin Hatch (who, not coincidentally, represents the state where Novel is headquartered and where WordPerfect was once a major employer):

When Netscape hired a lawyer to spin their take on this case, the man they tapped was one of the most conservative jurists in America, Robert Bork (once a Reagan Supreme Court nominee who failed to get consent from the Senate):

One of the few politicians who questioned this case as it was being filed was -- surprise -- Bill Clinton:

Finally, the case was filed both by the DOJ and 20 state attorneys general. While the majority of the AGs are Democrats, seven are Republicans.

The point of all that is simply that this is a legal proceeding and not a political matter. Don't look to politicians for a solution to what you see as a problem.
