Thanks very much to you both, Bill and Cormac. Looks like I have a few more questions to ask the Bell Atlantic sales rep. I think we will have to get a techie on the phone as well.

I thought that idea of call waiting sounded screwy.

By the way, ADSL is not yet available in this area (50 miles west of Boston), but will be soon I am told. When it is, Bell Atlantic will replace the ISDN modem with an ADSL compatible modem at no charge if you buy the first one from BA (about $40 more than from DellWare for the 3Com) and subscribe with them as your ISP. They will pick up half the tab if you use another ISP.

Kenneth in CyberSales says ADSL is preferred over a cable modem. I guess the telephone companies are all scrambling to beat the cable boys to the market. Might be a bit late, eh? Seems several of my friends outside of my township have cable hook-up available for the internet, but, alas, we do not.

Thanks again. Your replies are very helpful.
